March bento tutorial pictures + video link

I have posted a trial before this entry but I have decided to do something else today. haha!

The trial was meant to be rabbit, which was a big time failure, I have changed it to frog instead.

Way before I started on charaben, I really like to collect photos of charaben that were made by other creative people, which was posted on the net.

Recently, I looked back at those pics I have and I came across this frog charaben, which I find really really cute; hence I decided to give it a try.

Of course, if compared to the original, mine is far than being cute and nice.. however, it's a worth attempt. haha!

This month, I have made a mini bento tutorial.

I called it mini because the bento is really mini unlike my previous bento tutorial. So, this is perfect for kids or whoever who can't eat or don't eat as much. Portions are really little.

Take a peep! Hopefully the video can be up on youtube by end of this week.

This month's video is dedicated to Japan. The reason why of the smiley frogs is due to, despite what had happened and is happening now in Japan, sooner or later, things will get better.

Once the gray and gloomy sky is gone, there is always a clear sky out. Soon we will be able to see the colorful rainbow again. So, stay tough!

Stay tune for the video~!

The video is up! Please click here for the link to the video.

March bento (Trial)

I usually don't do any trial prior to my bento filming; however, lately I feel that my skill has greatly deteriorate due to unknown reasons.

Hence, I want to try out to make the bento before filming it this weekend. However, I am disappointed with the result.

This is actually meant to be a rabbit bento but somehow the end result looks like ... a cat? or some kind of animals out there. T__T

Failed big time! I am getting less and less confident in cooking nowadays. Why is that so?!

The eyes of this rabbit is uneven and there is just something strange about it. haha!

The color of dishes too aren't that attractive. Sigh~! Failed big time!

So, for my actual video, I will either stick with this with a better version or just think of something else.

By the way, this rabbit's idea is taken from a famous bento blogger call Asami.

I will end this entry with a few pictures of the bento.

Side dishes that I made are Japanese pumpkin (kabocha), stir fry beef with takuan (pickled radish) and kabocha korokke. The rabbit is coated with katsuoboshi (fish flakes).

Thank you everyone for visiting.

Food tasting

After having interest in cooking for few years, now I finally have the guts to ask others to try my cooking (apart from my family members of course).

I made this bento few days ago and asked him (someone) to try it out.

I made subuta, hijiki and potato salad.

As for kyaraben, my another attempt in making Rilakkuma again. haha! However, I guess I am really not good in it especially when it comes to bear. haha! Sigh. Failed big time!

As for subuta, I have made a bento with this before. Check out here if you haven't watched it before.

Note to everyone on subuta. Do coat the pork with corn starch instead of flour because I used corn starch in the tutorial and it turned out great after deep frying. I used flour in this bento and it turned out soggishly. So, not a nice texture at all.

This is not my March tutorial but I just want to share with anyone who is reading my blog on the bento I have made for him to try. hehe!

This was my first attempt in making Rilakkuma during my December bento. So, compared to my first attempt, do you guys think I have made some improvement in making Rilakkuma looks more like Rilakkuma? haha!

Camera cable

I can't update this blog as much lately because I can't use my camera for the time being.

My mother's dog was staying at my house for 10 days previously and the dog nibbled on almost everything including my camera cable.

So, the cable is totally ruined now and I need to get a new one in order to transfer pics and video into my computer.

I will make my March tutorial real soon.

Thank you for reading my blog today.

Cheers!
